The first Greensand Country Ultra will take place on Sunday 13th June 2021 for a field of 150 runners.
The event is the first of its kind in the area and our unique 50km loop will take you through the finest countryside Bedfordshire has to offer.
The entire route is marked and follows public footpaths, bridleways and tracks throughout. With very little elevation (440m) this is a fast course.
This event is permitted by the Trail Running Association and will be run under UK Athletics rules. Runners must be 20 or older.
COVID-19 - Until we can guarantee an alternative approach, this event will operate a waved start and and a number of social distancing restrictions.

Our 50km route will commence from the Shuttleworth Estate and will initially follow a cross country route on private trails within the grounds.
Leaving the estate the route heads west and joins the Greensand Ridge Walk taking you through Warden Great Wood and to the first checkpoint (~13km) in Haynes.
Continuing anti-clockwise along the looped route you pass through Clophill and Chicksands and then along to Shefford where the second checkpoint is situated(~28km).
After Shefford and a short stint along the River Ivel you pass up through Broom (CP3 36.5km) and along to Jordan's Mill.
To complete the circle the route turns towards Old Warden and through some magnificent woodland to re-enter the estate, past Shuttleworth House and through the finish arch.
The total distance is 50km with around 440 metres of elevation change.

There will be stalls serving coffee, food and local beer throughout the day until 6pm.

There will be a minimum of three fully stocked aid stations on route, these are at 13km, 28km & 36km.
Please note there are toilets at the start/finish and all three aid stations.

We will not be providing bottles/cups, so it is essential you have a refillable bottle or cup with you.
Registration is £62 (or £60 to affiliated runners) and includes the following:

We do not allow transfers or deferrals on this event.
Runners will receive a 70% refund if they voluntarily withdraw before 16th May 2021 — After this date there is strictly no refunds.

There will be prizes awarded to the race winners, V40+ category and a team prize (first team to have three finishers).
